    Default Estate and Wills

    Hello ,

Not sure where to look or if it is an issue but....

If I own property in Boniare and I live in Canada. Does my will in Canada cover my estate in Bonaire or do I need to make a separate will in Bonaire for my property?

    Hi:

Do you have to make a separate will or amendment to be notarized on Bonaire?
    Thanks L.S

it is best to see the Notaris as the laws in each country differ slightly . I always like to be sure everything is in order.
    Cheers, Anne

Well I have not yet been able to see the Notaris. But I will include it in my will here in Canada and then follow the recommendation the Notaris makes to me in Bonaire.

Berit and I were faced with this issue and advised by our Estate Planner to include our Bonaire assets in separate wills here on the island. We have instructions in our USA wills as regards the disposition of our real estate and bank accounts etc. here on Bonaire, but it will be our Dutch wills, Notario Kenneth F. Arends & Partners, which will be enforced when our assets are inherited.
