    Default Banking Questions

Wondering if anyone could provide some info on the questions below. I tried to search in previous posts but I didnt have any luck (but I am not an expert on the workings of a Forum).
    1. Are travellers check widely accepted at restaurants and stores?
    2. Is there a charge to cash them at a bank?
    3. Are pre paid Visa/Mastercards available to purchase on the island and if so where?
    4. What is the approx cost to use an ATM with an international banking card.
    Thanks so much in advance.

    Hello!
To be honest. travelers cheques are becoming more and more obsolete. I believe you can still use them for purchases. I have never been charged a fee however I have never just tried to cash them, I also have not used them in many years.
If pre paid visa/mastercards exist on island I have never seen them.
The fees to use a card vary, depending on the amount you are withdrawing and whether your bank will charge a transaction fee. Cash is always best but if you are using a credit card you may want to do a few things prior to arriving on Bonaire
    1) inform your bank you will be using your card in a foreign country
2)Check what the transaction fees are, many have no fee if you travel frequently, others carry a 2-5% fee.

I hope this info has helped!
