Headed to Bonaire in late June.....was planning to stay at Buddy's but they are sold out. Now we have a house rented which will be fun. I'm looking for any reviews/recommendations of tank rental places other than Dive Friends (reason is I've rented through them before). No issues with Dive Friends but just interested in feedback on other outfits.

I'm not aware of any "bad" choices for this... just a lot of options depending on where you're staying, whether you dive with nitrox, if you want to exchange tanks at multiple locations, or if you plan to mix boat and shore diving etc.

Dive Friends pretty much wins at every one of those categories, and their customer service is awesome, so I'm not going to suggest anyone else unless you can provide some specific criteria that would make sense for me to do otherwise.

Over the past 22 years we've enjoyed diving with Buddy Dive, Wannadive, Carib Inn, Toucan Diving, and a couple other operators that are no longer in business. For the past 27 weeks on Bonaire we've used Dive Friends for shore tanks (we don't do boat dives on Bonaire anymore) and have been very happy with them. If anything they've gotten better year after year as they improve existing operations and expand into new locations, all while continuing to maintain a high level of customer service and quality consistent fills. I don't mean to come across as a shill for them. If we thought there was a better operator we'd be using them instead.

Hi gman... hey if you get some time stop by the Divi Flamingo where we've stayed for 19 years now. See if Serge can help you.

Hi Bob...I've been to Divi to donate money to their casino before. I will likely use Dive Friends but was just seeking some quick reviews of other operators.

Bob and I have always had great service from Wannadive. We just need tanks and weights so like a place where we can get a good fill and friendly service.

We have been on island for 3 months now, and rented several places. Best in our estimation has been AB Dive, they have air and nitrox, DIN and yoke, drive-in (but not through so you have to back your truck in in a tight fit). Best part is they have good fills (if we get less than 3200 psi it is unusual) and we have had no issues with o-ring or neck leaks (as we have had at other operators), and the people are very friendly. And weights are included. Possible downside is location, near Warehouse grocery store, etc. But great for south dives and fine for the rest, too. They also have rinse tanks, limited gear storage. Price is decent with 12-tank cards, which you can share with other people, versus some operators that have 1 card for one person. They also have unlimited 6 day prices which if you dive a lot (2+ dives per day) are a pretty good deal. Also Carib Inn / Bruce Bowker has quality tanks, $15 for 1st one and $7 per fill (on a given day)or $125 for unlimited tank for 6 days, for after, so a good deal. Also includes weights. I don't know about turnaround on a refill and taking more than 1 tank at a time there, though.
