Hi All,

Am I correct that there are two real estate (government appointed) Notary's in Bonaire for the purpose of making real estate transactions function properly?

Does anybody have any information on the names or contact info of those Notaries?

thanks very much!

Anthony

Yes, there are two Notaris office on Bonaire. (FYI - In Dutch, Mr. is the equivalent of Dr. in English for us Americans.)
Both Notaris are approved by Holland have the equivalent of a PhD in Dutch Notarial Law.

Both Notaris are fully qualified and are the only two Notaris offices able to transfer property on Bonaire. They are also qualified to provide legal services related to inheritance/wills and related to incorporating a company.

If you are a US citizen living on Bonaire, they can also help you get a US document notarized and apostiled so that it will be accepted in the US.

To avoid any embarrassment, Mr. Aniek Schouten is a woman ... I've used her services, very professional.

As a new owner myself (yay), can anyone elaborate on what documentation should I expect from my notary after purchase? We're a little alarmed to have only received a digital copy of deed of transfer. Nothing showing the transfer tax has been paid, no other receipt or registration. Is this normal?
