This will be trip #15 to Bonaire and we have never carried a drivers license with us on the way to/from a dive.
Reading about the new (and needed) traffic stops for vehicle infractions is there a need to keep a copy (not the original) of my USA license with me while going to/from dive sites?

just bring a photo copy in case.. The cars they stop are ones that dont have an up to date sticker on the plate

We carry our most recent expired driver's licenses when driving before/after diving and put them in the OtterBox we use for our sunglasses while diving. That way we have something to prove our identity and can easily get the current driver's licenses that are in the apartment's safe. Not sure if this is legal but it is something. Might get cited for an expired license but can always produce the current one if needed.

I usually keep the park receipt + ID + 1 credit card in the otter box. That way you're good to go for anything.

I do the same as Tom, and also include a little bit of cash
