What is the baggage procedure for Landing in Houston from Bonaire and connecting to another flight- do you have to claim your luggage after customs and re-check them for your connecting flight....all with UNITED? Thanks

Yes you do, but it is not a complicated process.
Have done it several times in the last 4-5 years and it goes pretty smooth.

Go through immigration then collect bags. Go through customs then recheck bags.

the recheck of the bags really is pretty smooth.

This procedure is not unique to IAH and/or United. It is the most common way to get back into the country. Only if you can clear customs at your foreign exit point (Toronto, for example) can you enter the country and not have to collect your bags.

Glad to hear IAH is pretty smooth. Atlanta was a ginormous mess. Miami was fine.

How long is that procedure? We have 1 hour and 24 mins to get to our connecting flight to New York, on United. Will we make it? Travel will be in April....Thanks

it really depends on how many people are clearing immigration/customs when you get there. yes, you do have to claim your bags but once you clear customs you just leave them at an area to get put on your next flight. if there aren't long lines at immigration and customs, 1 hour 24 minutes should be plenty.
