View Full Version : Sea horse at Windsock, Frog Fish at Salt Pier and a Manta roaming around

At the end of November my husband and I will make our third trip to Bonaire... There's a few things we'd love to locate, a sea horse, a frog fish and that manta that seems to be roaming around. While there last October we were told where we could locate the sea horse and the frog fish but were unable to locate. We've seen a baby sea horse in Cozumel, but have never seem the other two. Any idea where we could locate these creatures? Thanks for any assistance with this.

Hi Renee. Congratulations on your imminent return to Bonaire!

Either Bas Noij at VIP Diving (http://www.vipdiving.com) or Bas Tol at BAS Diving (http://www.basdiving.com) should be able to guide you on a shore dive to find these cute critters. Both are highly recommended and specialize in custom-tailored outings for small groups of divers.

Check out this previous thread (http://www.bonairetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?71577-Sunday-sights!) discussing why posting specific locations of fragile and rare marine life is generally discouraged in the BT forums.

Blue Heron Bridge in Palm Beach County, Florida is a place we see frogfish and seahorses regularly--never seen a manta there, but plenty of eagle rays and big southern stingrays, also--flying gurnards, sea robins, mantis shrimp, jawfish, octos, and manatees. It is a shore dive too. Google it! We dive there regularly as we live nearby. It is a world class muck dive.
