Returning to Bonaire in Sept. (14-24). Bringing a brand new certified diver who has only one Bonaire trip under her belt. She'd love to find a dive master willing to buddy with her at least once per day. We are staying at Capt. Don's and they cannot provide that level of personal assistance. She prefers to stay shallow, max. 40-50'. I do photography and she doesn't want to impose on me so she's willing to pay for a professional. Any ideas locals?

Contact Bas Noij or Bas Tol at VIP Diving www.VIPDiving.com (http://www.VIPDiving.com). They did exactly what you are looking for with a newly certified couple from our store. I have also dived with both and they are very knowledgable, great to dive with and a lot of fun.

Have a great trip !!

The easiest thing would be to take her boat diving, the DM's are in the water for those, just be sure to tip extra. For the afternoon dive hire one, I suspect Captain Don's has some willing DMs. Bas is the best and will certainly work also

Bas Tol can be contacted at www.basdiving.com (http://www.basdiving.com) I would also highly recommend Susan Porter, she is the author of Bonaire Shore Diving Made Easy. It is a must have book. We went diving with Susan in May. It was a wonderful experience and we learned a lot from her. She can be contacted at Susan@bsdme.info Also check out her book at www.infobonaire.com/bsdme (http://www.infobonaire.com/bsdme) Also both Susan and Bas can be contacted through www.latinadivers.com (http://www.latinadivers.com) also on that website you can find other guides who might be of help too.

ask for yuri at yellow submarine. we dove with him a couple times (including my newly certified 10yr old). yuri was attentive and accomodating to say the least. he also recommended that we get our shore diving specialty as an efficient way to maximize our bang for buck. yuri took us shore diving all over the island, and was a great tour guide in addition to dive master. later in our stay we did a boat dive and i felt it was a waste of time and money, not to mention the ever-present competitiveness that you can encounter in boat dives. bonaire is naturally set up for shore diving. take advantage of how easy it can be. by the way, the price is fantastic and the comaraderie is second to none.

She ended up signing up with Susan Porter. Seems like it will be a good match since Susan is cool doing a lot of hand-holding. Sure appreciate your helpful references! Looking forward to our stay at Capt. Don's in Sept.
