hello all,

i'll be making my first trip to bonaire this xmas/new year, and i haven't found any details on bicycle rentals. i have seen ads for mountain bike tours (without prices), and i'm sure i saw an events calendar listing a bicycle race or two, so i'm assuming there are cyclists somewhere on the island. is anyone here a cyclist? i'd be very interested to know what quality of bikes are available for rent and the costs involved, and if anyone could give any advice on mountain biking on the island i would really appreciate it.

i'm a very experienced mountain biker and hope to get out and see as much of the island as i could manage over the couple of weeks i'll be there (i'm not a diver; my girlfriend will be in the water all the time, while i hope to enjoy the lack of touristy development and some hot weather). there's always the option of bringing a bike, but i'd like to know the prices on rentals to compare with the airline fees.

thanks very much for any replies!

Try here: http://www.bonairediveandadventure.com/pricelist.html#MB

They list a price for simple rentals as well as guided tours.

Here is someone you should contact. He rides all over the island. Off road mostly I believe. His website is very interesting too.

Leo @ bonphotobonaire.com would be a terrific resource for what you detail. He's very active in the mountain bike community. I do know that he has a couple of hybrids available for rent and I'm sure he can find a mountain bike to put you in as well. He also leads tours to some of the most incredible areas of the island.
