Would like to get some input from those who have been diving in the park, such as favorite dive sites, easier/more difficult spots, any other recommendations or hints or tips for diving in the area. Our 5th trip is coming up this weekend, and we've never been to the park yet!! Last year it was rained out the 2 weeks we were there, so we're hoping to make it this time. Pictures look awesome!!

Sheila,

In January we dove the three siteslocated on the short route; The first visit we dove Playa Funchi and Wayaka III, the second trip we dove Wayaka III and Boca Slagbaai. All of these are long kicks to the reef...especially considering the bouys are in the sand not on the reef, so once you make the buoy it is still a few minutes to the reef.

These sites didn't have the number of fish we saw in the South, but what we saw were BIG...including turtles, lobsters, squid, green morays, huge French angels, and the biggest Midnight and Rainbow parrotfish we've seen on Bonaire.

The reefs are more vertical and full of holes to explore, we didn't experience any current either day. Other than the long walk from the truck to the entry, these were fairly easy dives.

Also, if you go plan to stop at the restaurant @ the Boca Slagbaai site for burgers...Yummy!
