We were on a cruise and dove in Cozumel for one day. I did not see any lion fish, but the dive master spotted one and killed it with two small nets. She then put it in open water for a waiting snapper. The snapper took a small nibble, and positioned the lion fish so that they were head to head, the swallowed it whole. The snapper continued to follow us waiting for seconds. The dive master said the snappers will eat dead lion fish, but will not eat live lion fish. Same with eels. I don't know if the snapper on Bonaire are large enough to eat a lion fish whole.

Someone else on the dive said they had fried lion fish the night before in Cozumel. I don't know where it was served. According to one diver who was in Cozumel for the week, and had been in Bonaire recently, there were MANY more lion fish in Bonaire.
