Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to dive Boka Katuna from shore? What's the entry like? What's the dive like?
Standing at the yellow marker stone, it doesn't look simple to get to the water...

Hi Marloes,

Did some dives in the park last week. Checked out this site for you. The entry itself is really easy. Nice sandy entry. The problem is getting down there. Climbing down with gear can be done but only if you're well balanced. If you're not to sure on your feet with a tank on your back I won't recommend it. If you fall, chances are you get beat up really bad. We decided to lower all gear down by rope and set up on the beach below. That worked really well. Climbing back up is easier, two of us did that and for the two others we hoisted the gear back up with the rope.
Allthough it looks very tempting from above with nice blue water, the dive itself was not worth all that effort. The coral on the drop off is in poor condition. there were a few larger coral heads scattered around. Other than one queen trigger fish we did not see anything interesting on the dive, not even a lot of lion fish (which was the reason for our dives there, only some lion fish around the few lrge coral heads) I won't do that dive again. Much better off diving Bartol, benge or funchi when you're in the park.
