has anyone seen a frogfish recently? Sure would like some directions, please? They are my favorite. Been on the Island 1 1/2 weeks & haven't found one on my own this trip.

Hi Dawn -- last September may not be as recent as you'd like, but there were two hanging around the Yellow Sub beach. Enter the water just south of the Yellow Sub pier, swim directly out to the top of the reef and look to the north at the larger corals right at the top of the reef. We found two frogfish on two separate corals in about 25 ft of water right there, one black and one yellowish/orangish.

Good luck.

Something Special, never done a dive there without seeing at least two Froggies didn't need a DM to find them.

We were just in Bonaire from the 23rd of April to May 7th and did not see any either. We heard that even the divemasters/instuctors at the various shops haven't seen any in about 3 months.

Hope they aren't gone for good...

I know the feeling , I would like a dollar for every Frogfish that has seen me on the other hand ...

We were there 2 weeks ago. Found a grey froggy at invisibles.
Head out under the mooring, follow the sand slide down to 50ft.
Head south and look for a big bunch of short purple tube sponges, about a 5-8 min swim at a slow pace.
You'll know it when you see it, its a big bunch but they are all short.
Just under that is a brown sponge that he was sitting on.
He's grey and very hard to spot.
There's a couple of shots of him in my facebook photos under Bonaire 2011.
Check my profile to find me.

As bcwolfen said, I also saw the gray frogfish @ Invisibles two weeks ago. The directions are accurate.

Thanks :) We will check it out. Just saw 3 octopi yesterday. It was so exciting! What a great way to end a dive.

Great pic. You don't often get the "lure" that prominent. :)

Went to visit the little grey frogfish at Invisibles today. He is still there and doing just fine :)

We visited the Frogfish yesterday, the directions were perfect. He wasn't posed as nicely for us as in the picture posted earlier on this thread but we will visit again before we leave and hopefully find him a little more photogenic. Thank you all for the information and perfect directions.
