Morning Mola and anyone else who arrives later...
Good Morning BT Buds. Looks like everyone is watching the wave action today
Good Morning Mola, Donna, Debbie T. & All Arriving Later
I have never seen weather like this since coming in 2001. Wow...
Wow! Hang in the Annie!
It was a dark and stormy...morning?
Yikes!
Yeh, looks bad, but actually only about two feet, hey?
Watching the cams this morning and the radar from Weather Underground reminds me of Lenny years ago. Sounds like it won't be nearly as bad this time around. More of an inconvenience than anything.
morning all...wow...
Total bummer, is the middle of OUR dock sagging?
Good for the advanced windsurfers. I wonder what the wind mph is?
According to Weather Underground, the wind is out of the SW at around 18 MPH. It looks a lot worse than that.
Not really much wind, for the effect, 40 mph, and the center is over 100 miles, 200+ kilometer away. They finally gave it a name, Omar.
I can confirm that is really rocking on west side of the island.
Wasn't it Ivan about four years ago that tore up a few docks? None were completely destroyed like Lenny (thank goodness). Also, a lot of the places will take up planks so they don't loose them. Poor Andre at BDA...he's doing work on his dock
uh...is that a HUGE wave????
I'm agog....it's starting to look like California diving!!!
LOL CB, Laguna Beach diving...lol!
Yup...the vis looks about right...
Thanks for the mph Michael. I'd be rigging up a 4.5mm for my short board. Where's my helmet?
I was here for Ivan and Felix..to me, the waves are bigger today. I have body surfed both but today no way. I tried at Windsock but came in immediatel as there is a lot more rubble and the waves are massive pounding the shoreline. There is dock debris in the water in Belnem. From my house the spray goes as high as Windsock. The foundations south of Punt Vierkant are submerged.
Omar isn't even a hurricane, and it's still 100 miles from Bonaire.
uh...looks like the dock may be breaking up in the middle?
hmmmm I dread to think of what the Eden beach Cams would be showing!!
Diving sucks.... let's get some shoppin' done!
Military boat?
We are on Island as i type. There is no diving on ether side of the Island for the next few days. The weather should clear by Friday.
Looks like the tug boat.
good eye Ruth. Patrolling the coast maybe for damage?
Nasty pics guys ...
NOooooooo!!!!! Can someone verify??
Olaf, go to Local Items, Omar Pictures. There are some youtubes of Karel's...I think they are hit fairly hard, quite a bit of damage.
here someone braving the elements
Cyndelee, I saw those .. but cannot see when tis pics where shot ? Maybe they were shot way earlier today.
In Holland we got a pic of Karels being rather damaged.
Lydia is talking about this one ...
that is just so sad...
Okay here's something to hopefully put a smile on your face....
oops forgot the other one..
and another group a bit later braving the 'warm' rain

Vicman, send me the link, I'll see if I can post it
Amazing captures today!!!
The tug boat was guiding an oil boat in from BOPEC. I was in Sabadeco at a b day party watching the two tugs. I drove down playa lechi from Yellow Submarine to Kas Di Regatta. The road was blocked from debris. I was at Habitat prior. The restaurant is serving a small buffet for guests in the front as the entire restaurant is wet from intense spray. The sea is littered with debris. Everyone is comparing today to Lenny. Since I was in Antigua for Lenny I cannot comment. Having lived on Cape Cod for many years today does not phase me but for locals it is very intense. I pray the night quiets down but the wind and rain in Belnem has picked up from the outer bands of Omar.
OMG. I am so saddened by this.
Tribs, we all are
Has it been verified if Richard's dock table is gone too?
I think that tomorrow morning there's gonna be bad news in a lot of places, it's not raining as heavy as last night, but seems like it's not gonna stop for the night, same with the winds, but when walking around playa you can see how bad it is.
Vicman, email me the video at the moderators email, and I can post it on my youtube account, then here if you like.
Sent a message, thanks
Yes, Richard's Pier is gone. But this time he numbered all the planks so he'll be able to put it back together faster.
This is very sad. Hopefully, other islands will be spared. Wish I was there to help.
Very, very sad...I keep looking at the piercam...
