Meryl, we received an email from Susan Davis this morning, and the dinner went well I believe. There are only six warriors on the island (not exactly sure why the other 3 could not make it). They presented each with a BT t-shirt and bought them all and their guests dinner and drinks. I know lots of pictures have been taken. Hopefully Cecil will pop in with some pics and a good report:-)

Hi, Meryl, the group is all certified and are enjoying themselves now! They finished certification on Monday, and yeserday went to the dive shop at Sand Dollar for a dive on a different house reef.

They are doing extremely well. The other three who had planned to come were unable to do so for medical concerns at the last moment.

Tomorrow night they have a reception at the Lt. Governors house, and Friday a BBQ at Jack Chalks--they are being kept pretty busy!

Lots of pictures are being taken, so I'm sure as soon as Dave or Cecil have a few moments, you'll be seeing them! I think Cecil is flying back today, so you probably won't hear from him today.

The guys are great, their wives and family are great, this has been a wonderful experience for all.

What Susan said. We met them at the airport with some cold beer and sodas which was needed after a very long wait for their luggage. Monday night we met them at Captain Dons for the reception and dinner. Then on Tuesday we met up with them and dove at the Divi.

What a great group, very positive attitudes and a joy and honor to met. They make me very proud to have helped, if only a little.

I posted a couple of pictures over in CC.

Oops, I didn't scroll down far enough. Thanks for the pics Cecil. You are correct. That last picture effects all of us, I think. God Bless all our wounded warriors.

This is what the wounded warriors looked like at 108fsw. Too deep for new divers... Ron

You know Ron, when I first saw them at 108', like you I was shocked and dismayed at the instructor for taking them down that far. It was only their second dive after certification.

Since then I have reconsidered that position. They were surrounded on all sides but very experienced divers and think about that risk vs. the risk they all recently experienced in Iraq. If that was something they wanted to do, why not? I'm glad they got to do it.
