First Covid case reported in months

Looks like we have a single Covid 19 case in the hospital recovering right now. It was in the newspaper today and a Dutch friend read it for us. Not many details, but they’re doing contact tracing.

Also, I don’t think it’s been mentioned on BonaireTalk but they closed the island to Curacao because of the rising number of cases there. I think Curacao has 18 active cases as of August 26. And of course, most people know Aruba was already closed to Bonaire earlier in the month.

If anyone hears anything new I’d love to read about it here.

Yes, it was found in a local person on Wednesday night, they said he is almost recovered and is at home. He apparently did not have direct contact with any visitors from Aruba, Curacao or the Netherlands (that they know of.) Disturbing, because that means it's local transmission. I have not seen that we've closed our airspace with Curacao, last I saw a few days ago it was expected to be "imminent" but to my knowledge has not happened.
