Lightbulb Divers Paradise by Davin Goodwin (or as we know him, Dave)

yes at last the wait is over, his first book has been published/released....

Available from Ocean Publishing at this LINK

    a short synopsis....

After twenty-five years on the job, Roscoe Conklin trades his badge for sunsets and Caribbean beaches. But the slow pace of island life doesn’t last.

People close to him are turning up dead.

The island police are conducting a sluggish investigation, uninterested in Conklin’s help. They suggest he go to the beach and catch some rays.

Not that simple. Outside looking in? Not Conklin. Never has been. Never will be.

With dead friends and unanswered questions piling up, Conklin delves into a sea of scant evidence and vague clues. He pokes deeper and the final target becomes obvious.

    Him.

It is a good read, even if you don’t know Bonaire. For those of us who do know Bonaire, it is full of places we recognize. That makes it even better. Early in the book the protagonist meets his girl at Windsock for a morning run. I read that and said, “hey!, I’ve been in the exact spot!”

I ended up with the Kindle edition as it looked like early May ( !?) before I would get the hard-copy and I didn't want to wait that long. Burned through reading it in one socially distanced day It was fun to see an island I'm pretty familiar with as the setting, and of course I was curious to see exactly what common ( or obscure...) place names would pop up. Also fun was the speculation as to which "real" businesses are reflected in the story with changed names.
