    Default Electrical licensing ??

    Hello,

I am working on getting positioned to relocate to the island. Can anyone here provide me with the contact information of whomever I need to speak with to learn about licensing requirements to work as an electrician on the island?

    Thank you,
    Steve

There are no licensing requirements to work as an electrician at this time, although that may change in the future. Make sure you have a current license from the US when you move here, just in case. When you arrive contact someone at WEB (the electric utility) and aks if they have any licensing/education requirements for doing work that connects to their system. WEB does have an approved list of approved electrical contractors, but not all of them are licensed or certified.

When you move here, you can start your own company and do electrical work for private parties or anyone who will pay you. That may change in the future.
