    Default Miami overnight

Yikes - flights on United and Delta are around $1000 for Dec. Have been going for more than 10 years and paid between $650 and $800 (with no baggage fees). Looking at going through dreaded Miami and will need to overnight on way down. Any recommendations for hotel near MIA?

Hilton by the airport is nice plus shuttle. Keep in mind the distance between MIA and FLL is quite close which may influence your travel plans.

The Airport Hilton is a good choice, we have used the both Sheraton and the Marriott in the last few years both are about the same distance as the Hilton. I have found no matter what hotel we are booked into the other’s shuttle bus always show up first.

we are looking at flying thru Miami and we have a 2-hour time from arrival to departure which should be sufficient and prices are better than United and way better than Delta. We fly Delta last year and never want to fly them again as terrible 1st class service (no we are not snooty saying this but use points to help with extra bags of frozen steaks for 2-month stay and friends on Bonaire). United has spoiled us as to quality and no issues for years----so have others had positive experience on United? Yes we know Miami is not one of our favorite airports, but my concern is the flight as if we miss baggage on a Friday flight they have a flight the next day and then again on Monday to get us our stuff! Cooler is rated for 48-hours frozen and does a great job every year. 2020 we plan to look for 3-month stay and I want to start up a veggie garden business and bring down tomato seeds as miss the fresh taste of summer.....Roycce Out!

We usually do Comfort Suites in Miami Springs on Mineola, but tried Cambria this last weekend. C S is closer to the airport, has breakfast included. Cambria was similar, good beds, quiet, has small Bistro to grab an evening meal.

We have stayed in the Miami International Hotel at the airport a couple of times now (thanks American! ;-( ). It was nice and convenient. It is even a bit less for our November trip. They have breakfast included, but since our flight leaves at 6:30am, we have never been able to catch breakfast. We also have just left our checked bags in the baggage area after Customs and Immigration and they have always made it the next day, but we are not scuba divers, so less equipment.
