    Default Insel in trouble?

If I read it correctly, 2 out of 3 planes not operational. Third needs parts but they have no money.
And that, they may be grounded very soon.

As luck have it, we have their ticket to fly CUR in few days to catch our MIA ride.

Wish there was a ferry to CUR. Is there?

Hate the uncertainty tainting last few days of zen moments.

flydivi.com sez NO available flights for today thru the weekend--they do charters, so call Dividivi Air now....

Curacao Chronicle has stories of the current problems--Insel may have 1 flyable plane today. Google Curacao Chronicle Insel.

:-)) Yup. It’s one of those good news bad news situation. Just came back from the airport. Folks from yesterday’s flights are still waiting. So we made best logical decision. Visited VDT and bought a healthy supply of %12 Lander Brau.

May be we can hitch a ride onboard RV Pelagia who is enjoying our nice overcast weather.

Insel really needs to shut down so that efforts for a reliable replacement can occur....

Curacao gov't money is ALL that has kept Insel going thus far---so let them off life support--and PLEASE do not hire the same crop of idiots to work the next airline--again! And again!

Divi Divi Air now has 2-19 passenger Twin Otters, but are not using them as far as I know--WHY? Their Brittin Norman Islanders are flying full this weekend. Are they doing extra flights?

Yesterday Divi had a soft start with their TWin-Otter.
The operations specifications were issued last week, allowing Divi to do commercial flights.
First official start will be monday 15:30 to BON and 17:00 to CUR
Definite schedule is yet unknown, depending on development with Insel
They will fly the Twin-Otter during the evening and during peak-moments. At this moment everything is "peak"

the twin otters will begin flying monday. Divi is generally fully booked and more so now because the interisland travel of the ABC island residents is at Karnaval peak and will remain so through February 18th.

One issue with Divi is the luggage limitations. We were able to fit nicely into Insel. But speaking to Divi agent yesterday, not only we have to pay extra extra fees for luggage, they can not guarantee that the luggage will be on the same flight! They will send in subsequent flights when/if there is room. Whaat?? For dive and photo travellers like us, that is a real issue if trying to make a US bound connection in CUR.

Hope and pray Insel is funded to stay afloat another week.
