    Question Bait ball question

    Hello Bt'ers-
We had another fantastic 2 week vacation on Bonaire in early July and just got back.

Say, during the first week of our stay there was a very large bait ball that we saw at 18th Palm (The Plaza Resort) reef. Wow, what a beautiful site!

Did anyone else see it and does anyone know what kind of fish they were? Unfortunately it was our first dive of the vacation and I didn't have my camera with me do document it. Bummer

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

We were on Bonaire the week of June 19-26, and saw the bait ball at 18th Palm.
I agree it was beautiful. I do not know the kind of fish, but did get it on video.
Here is a link to the video of trip I posted to youtube:

Still haven't managed to see one of these in Bon...missed one last time by a few weeks. What was the water temp running when you guys were there in late June?

We usually go during the summer - jun-sept - and have reliably seen bait balls in the shallows at Salt pier and White Slave. At salt pier I lay down on my back on that rock shelf coming in and hold my breath as long as I can - they surround me. Pretty cool.
