I am so sorry to hear this news. He was such a wonderful person and contributed to many things on the island. Bonaire is missing an angel and heaven received one. His knowledge and work will never be forgotten.

We have had the pleasure of spending time with Jerry during our several trips to Bonaire. We took courses from him at BDA and always enjoyed his zest for the island and all its creatures, both above and below the surface. Jerry had a way of educating that is hard to come by today. He was a wealth of information with a huge heart who will be greatly missed.

It is with a heavy heart that I learned of Jerry's passing yesterday and only found out the news today. He will truly be missed by all. I have known Jerry for many, many years and always looked forward to seeing him on the BDA dock. So full of knowledge and a love for Bonaire. This is certainly a sad day for all who knew him. Rest in peace, Jerry.

Michael Gaynor has set up a fund to help cover Jerry's final expenses and a celebration of Jerry's life. If you'd like to donate, go to ...

    Jerry LIgon
It came to my attention that some folks prefer to use pay Pal you can use info@chatnbrowse.com and email me at info@bonairehelpdesk.com to let me know you have made a contribution. If you are on island and want to make a contribution, see Joan or Andre at Bonaire Dive and Adventure. The Go Fund Me is also still active..I miss him! Michael Gaynor

When my kids were young several of us took one of Jerry's classes at Den Lamen. He was a great teacher, and introduced all of us to a different way of looking at the interactions of the reef life.
