Default $$$ Difference on United (BOS-BON vs. Newark-BON)

F.Y.I. I just wanted to pass this info along:

So I just booked our tickets for our February trip to Bonaire. YAY! But I did notice something that did not make sense. We were debating whether or not to fly or drive to Newark....

The roundtrip airfare from BOS-Newark-BON on United was $834.00 pp but if we cut out the Boston leg and drove to Newark the price increased to $1,013.00 pp for the Newark-BON leg. Last year the opposite was true, it was cheaper when we dropped the Boston leg. Go figure.....

that is weird. i usually fly from Boston and its just over $100 more to go from Boston in my experience. Newark is a hub so maybe that's why.

We see the same thing between BWI and PHL, so it always pays (or make that, saves) to check multiple airports. Anyone who can figure airline prices is smarter than me.

It all depends on the day that you look up the price. Tuesdays always seem to be bad but you have to look everyday. I use yapta.com and they notify me when a price decrease occurs. Give them a try.
