Default Double billed by amex premium auto insurance

Just returned from Bonaire...end of January 2012. While checking American Express credit card activity...discovered AMEX PREMIUM AUTO INSURANCE had double billed my credit card.

I am guessing this double billing happens to everyone who pre-books a car or truck in Bonaire with AMEX

First $24.95 charge when reserved truck from AB in October...because they charged $75.00 deposit
Second $24.95 charge came dropping the truck off at AB and charging the remaining balance to my AMEX credit card

AMEX PREMIUM AUTO INSURANCE gladly refunded my money...maybe they will refund yours also!!!

Yes...it happened to me as well. Everytime. Just have to monitor your bill and call Amex when it occurs. They seem to understand the problem and have no issue with processing the refund.

It happens to me every time as well.
AMEX sees the deposit as one car rental, then the actual rental as a second one, and thus two charges.
As with you, it was solved with a phone call.
No longer a problem at AB...as they no longer accept AMEX
