    Default Dec/31 New Year option?

In our next tour we will be entering New Year in Bonaire. Hopefully that would mean many more trips in the future.

Where do you recommend we should be spending the New Year's eve? Any special events that we can be part of or attend to?

    Cheers,

We always eat at Cactus Blue on New Years. Reserve on line. Also Plaza Resort has a nice buffet and music. Many places are closed so reserve early.

We were on Island for New Year's eve about 6 years ago. We had a great time as it seems everyone celebrates from early evening until the next morning. I don't think I have seen so many fireworks anywhere in the States. We started the evening at Karels for a few Brights and then had dinner at Blue Moon; now closed. However, there are many good choices; just make reservations as soon as possible. I would suggest Richards, Plaza or Chibi-Chibi.

We spent New Years Eve underwater in Bonaire (2009/2010), the lights from the fireworks are beautiful and you can feel the explosions...it was a cool experience. Had 17 divers jump off the Sand Dollar pier about 15 minutes before midnight. Surfaced shortly after midnight and then floated on the surface watching the show.

Afterwards we sat around drinking beer and eating pizza.

We did the same thing this past New Years on the Cayman Aggressor.

We dine at Wil's Grill each NYE.

The days before you MUST see a Pagara. Businesses throughout the island buys massive amounts of tied together firecrackers, lay them out, fire them off (for good luck) ..look up Pagara on Youtube. My friend posted a video.

One can buy an arsenal of fireworks 26-31 Dec. at every street corner. At midnight the entire shoreline has massive displays. The dogs hate it..people love it. Capt. Don's Habitat would be my pick for a hotel to see fireworks. After, Sense or Karel's have parties from 1 AM - 5 AM.
