    Default Lac Bai Mangrove Center

Since no one here has mentioned the Mangrove Center, I'll start a thread. After four visits to the island I finally did the mangrove tour on my "dry day". It is well worth the cost and the drive out there. My guide was Inica (I hope this is spelled correctly) and her presentation was superb. The mangroves play a vital part in keeping the reefs going and, for us divers, that's very important. I enthusiastically recommend the tour.

    Thumbs up

You are quite correct. We had a group of 4 down in March and had a wonderful time kayaking the mangroves. A very unique and rewarding experience.

Strange question....how much does one tip for the kayak tour? I've never used a guide before for kayaking (always just rented equipment and explored on my own) and have no idea what the expectation is. I will be going to the Mangrove Center for the first time this coming summer. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi, when I go out, I tip 15-20% of the cost of the tour. If I had exceptional service from the guide, then I give a bit more. Hope this helps.

Sandy and i went there last year in March. It was incredible to see all the critters above and below the water. It's quiet but can be very bright so you better wear a cap.
