Anybody have any opinions of the stuff trying to fill the gap? I have offers from Cook's Illustrated and Food and Wine on my desk. Either any good? Any others we peasants might enjoy? Jerry?

Food and Wine is similar to Gourmet and would be a good substitute HOWEVER!!! whenever we are at an airport I make sure to get the newest Cook's illustrated, I love the helpful cooking tips and the few recipes that are included. Very Different from Gourmet and F&W
Thanks, Freddie. They are offering subscriptions dirt cheap right now. Maybe I'll just get a year's worth and check them out...
CB, Food and Wine is packed with adds now![]()
Cooks, now that's the real deal.
Thanks, Jerry. I'm not sure I'm the real deal, but I like to try....
The test Kitchen is in Boston. Some years back I got to play with them. It's not over the top cooking, just the best way to cook.
Cook's Illustrated is the best! Lots of helpful tips and secrets to get the recipes to turn out perfect.
I ordered them both for a year...they're cheap, and I can share them with Mom.
Jerry, we have the Sunset test kitchen close to here, but any public event is so crowded, and I am not invited to play.
Dude, if you're here in October, you have to make a little bit of time for the West Coast Chicks....
Dude,
I know....
