Working with my new G-16 and Fantasea FG16 Housing and see the desiccants they send with the housing are different than what I have. These are flat & rectangular and the ones I have are Moisture Munchers which are tubular. There is not much room left in the housing once the camera is in place so I have to wedge the Moisture Muncher in there - is this a good idea or should I get the flat/rectangular ones?

Gail,

Some housings are not made to be used with desiccant packs. I have the G16 with the RecSea housing, and I do not use a desiccant. I previously used the G12 with Fisheye Fix housing, and desiccant was not used with this housing either.

If Fantasea included a desiccant in the original packaging, there should be room for the pack inside the housing. You should not wedge anything in (often there is a little dedicated area for the desiccant pack, and it should be visible).

Does the housing manual mention using a desiccant? If not, you probably don't need/require one.
