Excellent news!!This was just posted on FB.....:):):)FUNDING AQUIRED TO COMPLETE SEWAGE SYSTEM.
8 million Euros has been secured from the Netherlands & the EU to complete Bonaires sewage project.
The money is to be used to connect homes & businesses to the main system, something that funding was not previously available.
Burney el Hage has been in negotiations for some time to secure funding & for their part, The Netherlands has assured the EU that if there are any additional costs, they will meet them.
What this means is that there should be no costs passed on to the people of Bonaire through direct or indirect taxation.

Not to smell "****" in a bottle of perfume, but that cant be a "free" 8 million euros. There has to be some fine print somewhere.

Ah JB I can see you are a skeptic... If there are any "hidden costs" to the grant, I'm (and I'm sure many others are) unaware as to what it is.. Lets see what develops..

:hummm: As long as both of us have been coming here...I think we know that nothing comes without a price.

I guess once the infrastructure is in development will blossom . This could be the beginning of an Aruba style development on Bonaire . I hope not as it is almost too big now to withstand its pristine condition ...

The price will be counted in terms of the number of broken axles resulting from roads going 7 yrs without repair subsequent to installation of the sewer connections.
