As regular visitors will know, the local language of Bonaire is Papiamentu. Papiamentu is a Creole language that is a mixture of Spanish/Portuguese, Dutch, English & Arawak. It is a fairly simple language in its structure & the indigenous locals will really appreciate a few words of greeting. Of course, just about everyone speaks English & Dutch but why not have a go. There's also a helpful little paperback book you can purchase on the island called "Getting Around the Islands in Papiamentu" that has a lot of conversational phrases and information, as well. I have found it quite useful.

I think I picked mine up in the airport gift shop a few years ago.
