Scorpion Questions

We encountered our first scorpion today - did not know they were on Bonaire. I’m curious about a few things. How often do people spot them, particularly indoors? If we see one, does that mean there are more in the family? Are they more common in certain areas than others? Is there anything to do to keep them out of the house/condo?

They fluoresce when hit by a UV or deep blue light, like certain corals and u/w animals. So they are easy to see at night.

For the first time in twenty years visiting Bonaire we found one in our bedroom 5/20/2022. Tan, less than two inches long and now deceased.
